The Center for Science, Society, and Policy was established in 2023 with seed funding from Caltech's Office of the President. In its whirlwind first year, the Center organized a number of workshops, lots of campus programs, and many new initiatives to facilitate the involvement of the Caltech community in the Center's activities. In 2024, the Center was renamed The Ronald and Maxine Linde Center for Science, Society, and Policy (LCSSP).

The Center launched a blog earlier in 2024 to feature more details on the Center's activities, to provide information about Center research, and to continue the conversation about public policy and Caltech science and technology.
