The Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences is planning to host a conference on "25+ Years of Quantal Response Equilibrium" at Caltech, on March 4-5, 2022. The organizing committee is now seeking papers.
The seminal paper "Quantal Response Equilibria in the Normal Form Games" by Richard McKelvey and Thomas Palfrey, published in Games and Economics Behavior in 1995, formalized the notion of quantal response equilibrium. The QRE concept provides a parsimonious union of the game theoretic Nash equilibrium approach combined with a probabilistic choice model developed in psychology. Not long after the publication of this influential paper, the QRE quickly became one of the leading approaches used to fit experimental data and provide a natural framework for estimating the effects of a variety of behavioral factors.
The keynote speaker for the conference is Charles Holt from the University of Virginia.
The committee welcomes submission of all types of papers related to the QRE approach including theoretical work, which pushes the frontiers of the QRE model or suggests and motivates preferred alternatives, and experimental work, which uses the QRE to improve our understanding of observed behavior and its underlying mechanisms.
Submissions. Please submit an (extended) abstract of the paper you would like to present. A full manuscript is not required, but if you have one, feel free to send it with your submission. The submissions should be sent to Letty Diaz at letty.diaz@caltech.edu.
The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2021. We plan to announce the accepted papers by December 7, 2021.
