The Linde Institute Welcomes Postdoctoral Scholar Hu Fu

Hu Fu arrived for the academic year 2015–2016 as the Linde Institute/SISL postdoctoral scholar in computing and mathematical sciences. The Social and Information Sciences Laboratory (SISL) studies how markets and other social systems function in a world in which economics can no longer be separated from the information and communication systems around us. To address this interplay, SISL brings together researchers from economics in the HSS division and computer science in the EAS division in a truly interdisciplinary environment. Hu's research is an excellent fit for SISL in that it takes a computational perspective on problems arising from economic contexts, such as auctions and pricing.

Hu received his PhD in computer science from Cornell in 2013, during which he received a Telluride scholarship. After graduating, Hu spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher with Microsoft Research New England.
